Neither appears in most listings and both matter. A building generator keeps the lift, the lights and the water pump running through an outage. Older buildings, particularly in Old Maadi, may have no lift at all, which changes what a fourth-floor apartment is worth.

3. Internet and Utilities

Reliable internet is now near the top of the list, especially for anyone working remotely. Many premium apartments come with fibre already installed, but confirm the provider and the actual speed rather than taking "high-speed" at face value.
